RUFFIAN – Nail Laquer in RUFFIAN Naked

Summer is the perfect time to experiment with bright shades, and as it comes to a close,  I am reluctant, as always, to give up on my beloved summer colors.  This RUFFIAN shade is such a classic and beautiful nude.  It has the perfect balance of pink undertones and a beautiful high shine finish.  The formula goes on smoothly and completely coats the nails in two coats, which as I have found is not always the case for similar shades.  The only issue I ran into was the lasting power of the polish.  I only got three(ish) days out of the polish with my usual Seche Vite topcoat.  Overall this is a great polish, and certainly the highlight of my box!

RUFFIAN – Dressing Room Nail Lacquer Remover Towelettes

These towlettes are very convenient for on-the-go.  They come in a sleek individual packet packaging and one is enough to cover all 10 nails.  Since the formula is non-acetone, it does take a bit longer to totally remove the lacquer, but you are left with your nails feeling moisturized, and not dried out, as you would find with your usual acetone based remover.  The toweletts are made from a very soft, almost felt-like, material.  However, the fibers from the towel did stick to my fingers and nails as I rubbed the towel over my polish, which did end up being a little bit messy.  Now, I do not usually equate nail polish removers with pleasant smells, but these have a surprisingly fresh, pleasant scent.  These are a great tool to keep in my makeup bag for on-the-go, but for me are not worth the price to use for each polish change.

Harvey Prince – Ageless Liquid Loofah

The smell alone makes this product worth mentioning; it is a revitalizing mix between vanilla and pink grapefruit.  I almost always use a washcloth in the shower, but this product is intended to be applied directly to skin.  Skeptically, I followed the directions and was pleasantly surprised.  The clear pink gel applied smoothly to my skin, and quickly came to a soapy lather.  The body-wash rinsed clean without a greasy feel, but still left my skin moisturized.  I did not notice much of an exfoliating effect, but the sample size was not enough to realize the long-term results of the product.  A major selling point of this product is that it is free of of bunch of nasty things like parabens, silicones, sulfates, ethanol, phthalates, benzene, GMOs, and triclosan.

Noir Cosmetics – Long-Wear Eyeliner

This pencil simply combines everything I look for in a black liner.  It has a true black color that does not look grayish once applied.  The pencil also glides on with ease, as not to pull at the sensitive skin around my eyes.  I am usually one to go for a more smudgy eyeliner look and this Noir pencil can easily be smoked out for a more blended, smudged look.

Real Chemistry – Luminous 3-Minute Peel

The Real Chemistry Luminous 3-Minute Peel began to work as soon as I began to massage it into my skin.  I could both see and feel the layer of dead skin being freed from my face!  It is meant to be used weekly, but the sample size only allowed for around two treatments.  I noticed a slight difference in the feel of my skin immediately, and makeup application was much smoother.  I have not really seen any major results, but I assume that in order to, a longer-term usage would be necessary.

Tommy Girl – Spray Cologne

To tell you the truth, I was not expecting to like this scent.  The idea of a sweet floral scent makes me think of middle school, but this was surprisingly sophisticated.  The scent also wasn’t specifically summery, either.  It is a very fresh fragrance, but with a hint of vanilla, which adds a bit of warmth.  It is a great transition from summer  into fall.
Retail on  $57.00 per 3.4 oz.
