L’Oreal Lumi Cushion

The biggest makeup trend of the moment seems to be cushion foundations. What exactly does than mean though?  Essentially, it is a sponge soaked in liquid foundation, neatly packaged in a compact. The L’Oreal Lumi Cushion is my way of easing myself into the trend. It comes in a beautiful white compact with a metallic rose gold flip lid. There is an interior hinged plastic lid, which holds an applicator sponge, as well as sealing the cushion, keeping it from drying out. With its large mirror, the compact is actually great for travelling, because it has all you need in one simple, and clean packaging.

I like to use a flat top foundation or a stippling brush to apply it. It comes with a sponge, which is a good solution for on-the-go touch-ups, but I do not like it for application. I simply dab a brush on the cushion and buff in, and repeat until I have the desired coverage, or I run out of time in the morning, or whichever comes first! L’Oreal claims that it is a sheer to medium coverage foundation, and I totally agree with that. The coverage is certainly buildable and customizable. The finish is beautifully luminous and natural. I typically have pretty oily skin, so I am sure you can sense my hesitation picking up a lumi foundation. It is glowy, but not at all shiny, the perfect combination. This foundation wears very well throughout the day, with no creases in sight.

I really love this foundation! I have been using this for a few weeks now, and there is no end in sight. When purchasing this foundation, I was skeptical as to how much product was actually in it, so only time will tell! I certainly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a glowing, effortless summer look!
